Once you and your group have decided on which room you would like to run, you can book directly through our website or call us at (704)997-8345. Walk-in availability is currently not available due to COVID-19.

Yes, there is an age limit! Participants under 16 years of age must be accompanied by a chaperone of at least 18 years of age. The chaperone must have a ticket for the escape room as well.
Escape rooms can be intense environments and we have found that children under the age of 10 do not have the attention span for an hour long event. We do not recommend large parties of young children as our goal is always to ensure all our customers regardless of age have a great time.
Please keep in mind that the Out of Time staff CANNOT watch children while you play a game. At no time will children under the age of 16 be allowed to be unsupervised.
As a side note: Adults are required to supervise children at all times as cognitive fatigue often accompanies breaking rules and could result in injury or damage to the game. We will hold guests liable for damages to property that are not normal wear and tear, which is why all younger guests require adequate supervision.

Due to COVID-19, we are currently not accepting walk-ins and all bookings must be made pre-booked on our website or by phone call. Additionally, we are not taking in person payments or cash payments at this time for the safety of our staff.
We will do our best to accommodate spur of the moment game play by phone when available.

Each room has a different level of difficulty provided in the room’s description. Some puzzles will be harder than others because how fun would it be if it were all easy? If your group gets stuck, your Game Master will provide you with up to 5 hints. There is no penalty for using a hint and if you’d like additional hints, all you have to do is let your Game Master know.
This will allow for the elimination of the 2 different, but EXTREMELY similar, FAQ’s and some redundancy.

Arrive 15 minutes prior to your experience, BUT NO SOONER. We want your group to have ample time to wash your hands prior to your experience. Your group will need to call us when you arrive and we will let you know that your room is ready and all high touch areas in the building have been sanitized. Your entire group must enter the building at the same time. More than one group will not be permitted in the lobby at one time.

In order to adhere to state and local guidelines, we will be limiting the number of people in our lobby at any one time. This means that we will no longer be able to be as flexible with late arrivals as we have been in the past. Groups arriving late will have to reschedule their booking and may be subject to a $15 fee. Please plan for traffic accordingly.

We have relaxed our cancellation and rescheduling policies.If you or anyone in your party have exhibited any symptoms of COVID-19, please inform us at least 3 hours prior to your booking so we can reschedule you. You can reschedule your booking free of charge with a minimum of THREE HOURS advance notice. Any reschedules occurring with less than THREE HOURS notice will be subjected to a $15.00 fee. If your team does not escape, you can continue playing for an additional $12.50 per player if the next session is not booked. Otherwise, we will be happy to show you the remainder of the room.

Per North Carolina state law and fire code, none of the doors in our escape rooms are actually locked. Players are free to leave the room at any time to use the restroom or in case of emergency. A game is only forfeited if all players leave the room at the same time. You are NEVER locked in any of our rooms and are free to leave at any time.

Not at this time. Due to COVID-19, we have made all bookings private at no additional cost. You will NOT be paired with anyone outside your group.

Yes. To make sure we take every precaution against the spread of COVID-19 and meet all state and local guidelines, each room has a strict minimum and maximum capacity. These are listed under the room descriptions as well as on the COVID-19 response page.

Unfortunately we cannot adjust maximum capacities at this time due to state and local regulations regarding maximum capacity.

The cost per player is $25.00. Active and retired military, EMT’s, police officers and firefighters receive a discounted rate of $12.50 for their ticket only. (Must show ID at arrival)

Please allow 75 minutes for each game. You must arrive 15 minutes early so that we can provide you with a briefing prior to your game. You will have up to 60 minutes to escape. The briefing will begin promptly at the scheduled time, so if you are late, you will need to reschedule.

No. Alcohol is not permitted at our location. Additionally, if it is suspected that your party is under the influence of drugs or alcohol, you will not be permitted to play and will have to reschedule your game.

While we have always allowed cancellations/reschedules with at least 48 hours advance notice, we are reducing that down to 24 hours notice before the scheduled time of the event. You will receive a full refund if cancelled with the advance 24 hour notice. You can reschedule your booking free of charge with a minimum of THREE HOURS advance notice. If it is determined by us that the weather is too severe for the safety of our employees or visitors, we will inform you 24 hours prior to your booking so that you may reschedule your game.

Nope! We don’t ask our players to do anything physical so you won’t injure yourself. All our rooms exercise your brain, not your body. However you will need to take a short health survey and have your temperature taken (contactless) prior to entering the facility.

What to expect when you book a game:
- We will be wearing masks. Players are not required to wear masks at this time, however it is encouraged. We will have masks and gloves available.
- When you arrive please stay in your car and call us at 704-701-3379. When your entire group has arrived (15 minutes before your booking time please) we will unlock the door and check you in. Your entire group must enter the building together.
- The escape room you have chosen will have been sanitized. Each player will be asked to wash their hands or use our sanitizer before and after you play your room.
- We will be checking temperatures as you enter the building (contactless) as well as conducting a short health screening.
- Please be honest – if you are not feeling well do not come. We will reschedule you when you are feeling better.

It is Entrance 3 right across from the outback Steakhouse on the right. There is plenty of parking. Please take traffic into consideration and arrive a few minutes early to avoid any delays.
